Hi Everybody! This is just a quick note to say that I will not be on Deviant art for a couple of months as I am having surgery on one of my eyes and unfortunately will not be able to use computers and do any artwork until I have recovered.

Hi everybody.
I've been making a few changes to my website www.wjsillustration.co.uk.  I've included a new section where you can now purchase limited edition poster prints of my artwork.

Having now completed two paintings based on two on the foes in the current series of Doctor Who, I think i'll try to paint every major foe that appears in each story.
But what to do with them all when done?.....

I've had an idea that I need help with. For my own promotional purposes I want to produce a Doctor who Calendar for 2012.  But what images would be best for each month and/or what theme should the calendar have?
My intention is to make the final product available as a free PDF download from my website.
So please help me to decide what new paintings I should do!!!

As you can see, I've added some new bits to my Deviant page.  Sadly, my back-up hard-drive has died and I have lost a huge amount of artwork that I was working on and the originals that I have previously put on DA, but nevermind just means that I've got to do some new stuff to fill the gaps!!

I've added to my Gallery the coloured version of the Tenth Planet comic page, even though its still not finished and I dislike it, but hey-ho.
I've also added an illustration of a classic Tom Baker story entitled - The Seeds of Doom.
As always your opinions on my artwork are greatly received.

Well I've finally put some more stuff on - A Black and White comic page depicting a scene from the incomplete Doctor Who story The Tenth Planet and a test illustration depicting the Master in all his forms (except the one from Keeper of Traken - as I couldn't find any decent reference photos of him) - I hope you like them, and as and when I've coloured the Tenth Planet page and tightened up the 'Masters' I'll up-load them.

Well its taken me a while but I've finally put something new on here.  This is the style i'm going for with my own Doctor Who comic strip, so its just really a test and nothing final.  It was drawn with dip pen and ink, then scanned and digitally coloured.

Sorry I've not been posting any new pictures on the site I've just moved and everything is still in boxes (well at least when they are all unpacked I have a dedicated room to do all my artwork in)
The Pertwee portrait is as I left it before Christmas, just a very basic pencil sketch, but it will be ready soon.

Well i've finally uploaded my finished portrait of Patrick Troughton - The Second Doctor, only eight more to go!!
Its taken slightly longer to do this one because I started out with the pencil sketch, scanned it and then painted it using GIMP.  My computer doesn't like GIMP very much so I bought a copy of Open Canvas and started on the pencil sketch again from scratch. In my opinion Open Canvas is a pleasure to use.
